Our First Christmas in New York!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all! Our first Christmas in New York was a memorable one! Brady was a good boy this past year and Santa definitely stopped by our house. Kevin and I enjoyed watching Brady open all of his gifts. By looking at the pictures you can tell that the Quad Runner was his favorite. Grandpa Gelo and Peggy came over the day after Christmas and spent the weekend with us. It was great being able to spend this holiday with family.

As we bring in the New Year, we look forward to spending future Holiday's with all our family and friends!

Our Weekend with Jon, Kelley, Josh & Sarah!

We had such a great time with our family and friends last weekend. Jon and Kelley arrived on Friday afternoon just in time for a snow storm! Our friends Josh and Sarah arrived Saturday afternoon. Josh just moved up to New York from Florida and Kelley and I went to high school with him. It was wonderful to finally meet Josh's girlfriend, Sarah, who we have heard so much about! We took Brady sledding for the first time in our back yard and we went to another Christmas light festival Saturday night. Unfortunately the weekend flew bye way too fast but we are grateful that we were able to see and spend quality time with our family and friends. We look forward to Jon and Kelley visiting us again in the Spring and hopefully we will be seeing Josh and Sarah frequently now that they live two hours away from us. We wish you all a healthy and joyful holiday!

Brady's First Time in Snow

Mid morning the sun started to come out and we had a beautiful afternoon!

Brady and I had fun in the snow! We played in our front yard and then went down to the park about one mile from our house. Brady had a great time running around in the snow down by the river.

SNOW!

Our Front Yard

Our Back Yard

We were so excited when we woke up this morning and saw snow on the ground! Unfortunately there have been a lot of communities without power since last weekend. There was a terrible ice storm that caused power outages only a half hour away from where we live. We have finished up all our Christmas shopping and we are looking forward to spending the weekend with Aunt Kelley and Uncle Jon! We are hoping that Grandpa Jones will also be able to join us.

Our Christmas Tree

We had such a fun time picking out and cutting down our very own Christmas tree this year! On Saturday morning we went to a 25 acre Christmas tree farm and spent about an hour picking out "The PERFECT TREE." We spent all afternoon trimming and decorating the tree. Saturday evening our neighbors invited us to a really cool light festival. We had a wonderful time and woke up Sunday morning with some snow on the ground!!!

Thanksgiving in Concord, MA

Last Wednesday evening we drove to Concord, MA and we celebrated Thanksgiving with Grandpa Gelo and Peggy. The food was wonderful and Grandpa Gelo prepared and deep fried a turkey. After dinner we had a birthday celebration for Grandpa Gelo and me. Peggy got us a delicious chocolate peanut butter ice cream cake! On Saturday we had lunch with Aunt Maureen, Lauren, Chick, Emma, Adam, Donny, Colleen and Kayleigh. Donny and Colleen announced there exciting news that they are now Engaged! Congratulations you two!!! We were able to meet Brady's second cousins for the first time and they all had such a wonderful time playing together. On Saturday night Rita and Brendan had us over for a yummy dinner. It was great to see everyone and now that we only live a few hours away we plan on getting together frequently! We headed home early Sunday afternoon and what should have been a three hour ride home turned into a five and a half hour ride. Thanks to Rita and Brendan Brady had some new toys to keep him occupied and we made it home safely.

This Morning

This morning I walked into the kitchen and looked out our sliding glass door. I saw four beautiful deer walking through our back yard. I took some pictures of them but is was so overcast and foggy out that the pictures did not turn out well. I will try to get better pictures of them the next time we see them.

Last Night

Before Brady went to bed last night we were all hanging out in the living room. We watched him walk into the kitchen and heard him pull out one of the dining room chairs from underneath the table. Kevin walked into the kitchen as soon as we heard Brady start to move the chair and Brady is such a fast & speedy climber this is where we found him.........

Our Weekend with the Vera Family

Our very good friends Jessica, Yusef, Ariana, Alexia and Baxter came to visit with us last weekend. This was the first time they met Brady and it was Kevin's first time meeting there two year old daughter, Alexia. Jessica and I met back in 2001. We were in the same Medical Assistant Technical program. She is a very special person with a wonderful family. Due to her husband being in the Coast Guard they have moved from Florida up to New Jersey. Brady had a great time playing with Ariana and Alexia. Now that we only live 3 hours away from Jew Jersey we are looking forward to getting together frequently!

Our New Home

We have enjoyed every moment of living in our new town. The town we live in is a very small town that is right on the Hudson River. The average temperature since we have arrived has been 50 degrees and we are enjoying the cooler weather with no humidity. The fall leaves are beautiful and there are so many fun places to go and things to see & do only 5-20 minutes from our home. Brady has already made several new friends and we are looking forward to a white Christmas.

The Gelo Family is Moving AGAIN!

In just a week and a half we will be on our way to NY to begin our next journey & adventure! We are moving due to Kevin being transfered and promoted within his company. We will truly miss all our family & friends in Florida but we are looking forward to this new experience & our door will always be open for visitors!

Jenny, Kendra & Tyler came to visit with us over the weekend & helped us with our yard sale that we had Saturday morning. Overall we had a great turn out but we will be having one more yard sale this weekend in hopes to get rid of the left over items. The movers will begin packing up our house next Monday the 20th & we will start our drive up to NY the following Wednesday. As we head up to NY we will be making several stops along the way to visit with family. We plan on arriving in NY on Saturday the 25th.

Yesterday I took Brady to his friends Birthday party. The party was held at an indoor playground and Brady had such a blast running around & playing with all the other kids. Enjoy the Pic's!

The Gelo's Rendezvous at the Zoo!

On Saturday we took Brady to the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne. He got to meet all different types of animals. He also had the chance to feed and pet a giraffe, it's food cost almost as much as our lunch . At first he was completely in to meeting the giraffe but he lost interest pretty quickly and became more interested in other things. Giraffe's have very long tongues! All in all we had a great day, Brady will enjoy the zoo a lot more as he gets older.

Brady's Frog Pool

On Saturday afternoon we set up Brady's frog pool and hung out in the back yard. It was very entertaining watching him run around the yard and climb in & out of his pool. He also started saying "Kitty Cat!"

We are definatly looking forward to the weather cooling off. It has been very hot and humid over the past few weeks. Brady has become very vocal. He has mastered saying, "Da-da & Mama." He also says "HI"! We had a very laid back and relaxing weekend. Saturday afternoon we got together with some friends and we got up early Sunday morning & took Brady to the park. I'm sure you all know what we did Sunday afternoon..........watched football! Even though the Patriots don't have Tom Brady for the rest of the season they are still doing great! We miss you all and hope everyone is doing well!
